What's happened since last this forum was active?

I stopped volunteering for so many damned gaming companies and took a large chunk of my life back. Worked one con for a friend of Pulp's who is an art dealer for comic artists. After that he introduced me to everyone as Zombie Joe. (That was what I was writing under for his web comic site.) And now it stuck.

Through the use of Twitter, blog and FB I now have more people knowing me as Zombie Joe than as my actual name. That has been going on for almost 3 years now.

Took my free time back to work on my writing. One manuscript is in to a couple of agents and the next is under development. It needed more research than I originally anticipated.

Still working doing web work for a local college in their athletic department. Still running a D&D game every week. Still planning another trip down to DFW to visit Pulp and some other friends down there. Definitely stopping in Seattle next year to do a food an book tour with some author friends on my way to Alaska.

Think that is about it, although I likely missed some.

Still live in South Carolina, still single (I am working on that, though), I have lost some weight, but have not kept track... what else?

Oh yeah, I'm unemployed.

My job decided to move to Georgia. they offered to take me along, but as I hated my job and they were moving to an area that had a higher cost of living, but were not going to give me a raise (and in fact had not given me a raise OR bonus in the last two years "because of the current economy"), I decided to jump ship. It is now 2 months later and I'm ok, but I really wish I could find someone that will employ me.

Thankfully, my friends are also unemployed, so I go hang out with them and we beat up orcs together.

Oh wow...I'm not even sure where to start? It feels like years since I last posted with the Krew so I guess I'll just go with most recent memory.

Well I'm no longer with Circuit City (obviously) and bounced around a bit. Up until recently I was working a day job at the local Bose store and graveyard shift at 7-11 so I had no semblance of a life. Now I landed me a job at the Food Lion Distribution center working overnights. I prepare and pallet orders for Food Lions, Blooms, and Hannafords for the Central VA area. The pay is pretty good and it's good, honest, hard work.

I've also lost weight and I'm down to 215 lbs (which is over 75 pounds lost for those of you keeping score), all in preparation for the NAVY. As of June 1st, 2010 I am a Future Sailor and will be shipping off for basic training on March 7th, 2011. Then it's off to A-School in Meridian, MS to train to be a Personnel Specialist.

For anyone who remembers, I was a soon-to-be daddy when the Forums asploded. Little Nikita is now a 3 year old demon on wheels. She's talking up a storm, throwing tantrums, being sickeningly cute and is the center of my f'd up little world right now. Her mother and I patched things up last year and as of December 30th, 2009 we're happily married and starting our lives together (will post wedding pics and baby pics soon). She's very supportive of my future Naval career and knows how good it'll be for our family (and also thrilled at the fact I'm a desk jockey). We're struggling our asses off to make things work and to pay the bills but I know that things can only get better.

And that pretty much covers it. As of right now we're living a very shitty apartment on the Southside of Richmond. We can't afford internet but I do have a laptop and can occassionally carry my butt over to the Library or my parent's place for teh interwebz so my posting will be pretty sporadic until the new job takes off and we can afford it. But! I will at least check in from time to time and you can always message me on FB and I'll respond eventually. It is good to be back! *humps Vampy's leg, punches Tiq, pinches Bimo's cheeks, dangles something shiny in front of KS and Gen, gropes StopBeingCute and ninja-vanishes*
