Paranormal Activity 2
Anyone else going to be checking this one out? I for sure will be, if for no other reason than watching the boyfriend cringe and scream like a little girl. Horror movies torment him terribly and I adore laughing at him.
Ahh, Hollywood. Thank you for bringing such joy to my sadistic heart.

it looks like it'll be nice n' scary.
Not as scary as the bedbugs in NYC theaters unfortunately so I'll prolly wait till I"m in Philly or catch it on Demand.

I saw part I and it was a borefest. Not nearly as boring as "Mulberry Street" or "Session 9" though I still haven't found a "horror" film that scares me. Most are frightening in a different way (bad)...and many just make me laugh with sadistic glee.

Re: Paranormal Activity 2
If you are used to sleep deprivation it is less scary than most claim. If you live with someone who suffers from Night Terrors, it is less scary. Also if you live with someone who has a sensitivity to white noise (and wakes up from hearing small noises), it is less scary.
Although I fit into 2 of those 3, I still enjoyed it. It was nice to see a "scare them" movie as opposed to a "gross them out" movie.

I'd say it's more documentary, made to look as if the characters filmed it all themselves. (Think Blair Witch, but with a lot less "shaky camera".)
Re: Paranormal Activity 2
Definitely was filmed more documentary style. In fact, my son saw it before we did and thought it was a documentary at first. Brilliant marketing on the part of the people that made the film.
My wife wouldn't let me mess with him though.

I liked it, but not quite as much as the first one. Sure, the effects were... bigger, but sometimes subtlety works better.

- Spoiler:
- the way Katie killed the dad at the end. After what he did, he deserved worse. Plus the neck-breaking just wasn't in any way scary. Now if she had slit his throat from behind and held his mouth shut so he couldn't scream while he bled to death, knowing his wife and child were next...
