Now Taking Commissions
Freelance work is getting harder to come by, and I need to come up with ways to expand my experience and portfolio. I have some of my own projects to do, but they don't provide any income.
So, I'd like to see if any of you (or people you know) need any illustration or design work done. With this crowd, I'd specifically be interested in doing character artwork for whatever RPGs you might be playing. I haven't had the opportunity to do much of that in the past, and I would like to have that sort of thing in my portfolio.
If you'd like anything, hit me up and we'll negotiate.
Since most of you are probably just familiar with my Krewmembers comic work, here are some samples of stuff more relevant to this post. You can see even more stuff at www.skippinginfinity.com. I also have a bunch of faces I drew for a sketchbook project here: http://www.arthousecoop.com/submissions/19091-face-in-the-crowd
Vegetarian Zombie, commissioned by our good friend ZombieJoe a few years back.
An Earthworm Jim sketch I did in high school.
Not a character, but still something different. This accompanied a story in a magazine published by Columbia College Chicago.
Something I did for a filmmaker as part of a promo package to raise money for a film.
Concept art for a short horror film some friends made.

Re: Now Taking Commissions
As much as I would LOVE to commision a sketch of Rowan for my collection, we are woefully broke. I'd love to see what others have to commision though.

Matt instead of volunteering at C2E2 you should have a booth you could tons of comissions and you do sketches and crank out the dough.

I'm not going to spend money on a booth when I have no fanbase.

Dude, booths at conventions are really expensive, and even recognized artists have a hard time even breaking even at cons. Talon Dunning at Dragon*Con said it was a huge bust for him. Hell, the local artists that were at ValleyCon pretty much were ignored for most of the weekend - we were set up right across from them.

Re: Now Taking Commissions
Bumping this up with a not-quite-finished drawing for a Western tabletop RPG being developed.
You know you want somma this action... or you know someone who does.

Re: Now Taking Commissions
These are a couple drawings I did of the PCs I'm DMing at the moment.
Dufrane Kunta Kinte Dzjaq'wyt Hedberg Buckleup Itsthecla... At least I think that's the full name. My friend took advantage of gnomes having tons of names. He's a bard.
This is Turquin "Turk" Vindelshel, an Elven Paladin. This is when he decided to leave the battle and go protect a bunch of villagers that turned out to be quite safe.
