The time is upon us.
Less than 3 weeks to go folks. Bright and early tomorrow morning my family and I are driving our way to Lindenhurst, IL to move my wife and daughter in with her sister for the duration of boot camp and A-School. We'll be stopping somewhere in West Virginia before we make the rest of our way there on Tuesday. Then I'll be flying back into Richmond on the 1st to wait out my last week as a US Citizen. 14 and a half hours. 831 miles. In a truck cab. With a 3-year old.
...joy.
...joy.

Re: The time is upon us.
Well we have arrived safely as of yesterday around 2:30. Being this far from where I've lived almost my entire life is strange and exciting so overall I'm pleased. That being said:
WORST. ROAD TRIP. EVER!
Seriously, being stuck in the cab of a truck with a 3-year old for 16 hours is bad enough, even over two days. But driving through mountains with a wife who's bi-polar AND has vertigo!? OH. MY. GOD! I pretty much stayed as quiet as possible the entire trip to avoid venting my frustration on her of Nikita. Every 5 minutes "Slow down! Why are we speeding up!? There's a turn! WATCH OUT FOR THAT CAR (which is 500ft away!) OMG you're gonna kill us!"
All of those are exact quotes, I assure you. We're now broke, tired, and very cranky, but we're here. Ultimately I am very happy that that horrible experience and have made a personal vow to NEVER make that long of a road trip. We're now flying everywhere.
...is it March 1st yet?

I don't think I would wish that upon my worst enemy, let alone any of my fellow Krewmembers.
