Doctor Who
After telling myself for ages that I wouldn't touch the new doctor who stuff untill I went back and watched the originals, I finally crumbled under pressure of a close friend to sit and watch the old eccleston episodes and now I'm pretty much up to date with the new stuff through tennant and matt smith.
Fucking LOVE the show, and tennant is definitely my fave doctor.
Anybody else fans of the good doctor?

Re: Doctor Who
You're welcome Chuck.
Yes, the good doctor is awesone. I love Tennant as the doctor, but i think Smith hit the series with a running start and just kept on going, he's working out just fine.
So, random question to get some conversation flowing.
What are your favorite episodes that people just must see in your opinion?
I think Blink is definitely on my list of faves- introduction of the weeping angels, some of the creepiest baddies ever, ftw! Also, being a doctor lite episode it means that anyone can kind of jump in and appreciate it as long as they have a tiny bit of background. If I'm going to share the doctor with a noob that's kind of the episode I start with to give them a taste and make them want more, lol!
I'll have to think about what some of my other faves are though.

I don't know the ep names, and I'm quite content with just enjoying the show as it is presented. We're lucky. All the New Doctor eps are playing Mon-Thurs on Space here in Canada. I can watch to my hearts content.
And I see your David Tennant and raise you a John Barrowman, he is all KINDS of yummy!

Amy Pond is great and lovely, though I have a weak spot for Donna Noble.

I like donna's attitude and she was only girl who didn't have the hots for the doctor.

Re: Doctor Who
Which was the point really. she was his emotional equal if not superior. My favorite Companion is Jack, hands down. He's funny, sexy and oooooh so sweet. *sigh* I'm happy that he's in a committed civil partnership and loves Scott. I just wish Scott would share!

I'd watch him sleep. He has to smell amazing. He is such great fantasy fodder.

Uh uh. Harkness is a FANTASY. Cherub is reality. And plays so nicely with others.

Re: Doctor Who
Hmm, I think companion wise I have a weakness for Rose, probably because she was the first that I watched. I liked Piper and Tennant's chemistry, they just had so much fun
I think Donna was awesome and I'm really liking Amy. She's got a bit of Donna's feistyness and she's just a lot of fun to watch.
So, another topic, how is everyone feeling about Matt? I know he's not Tennant, but I think he's working out just fine?

Re: Doctor Who
Ah the good Doctor. I think that Matt Smith has been truly fantastic in the role and has suppassed the occasionally morass David Tennant. The 11th Doctor has a sense of fun and is more alien, he has a lot in common with classic Doctors. Difficult to pick a fave episode but from the new series I loved Blink, Girl in the fireplace, human nature/family of blood, blood and stone, Caves of Androzani, Talons of Weng Chian, Genesis of the Daleks. To name but a few. My fave Doctor is Peter Davison as he had a quiet heroism, dignity, and a well developed streak of sarcasm.
As far as companions go I enjoyed Donna as she was closer to an equal and not a star struck little girl. I liked Nyssa and felt she suffered from being one of three companions if she was on her own then she could have been one of the great
