What's worse?
I was just thinking about it and I can't decide which is more annoying. I mean, is it worse to loose a show before it's ready to go or is it worse to watch it turn into something it's not?
It's like life I suppose. Ideally one would want a long happy healthy life, but barring that is it worse to live so long that you're loosing your marbles and are not the same person or is it worse to live a happy but short life- die in your 30's with more living to do....
Wow, this got all philosophical on me...
XD

Re: What's worse?
I think it's worse to have a show be canceled before it can really be good. Look at Firefly. It was really good, but they hadn't even found their footing yet, so it could have been an amazing show.
The example of the other I can think of is Scrubs. They had a great show and had even ended it, but then they decided to do another season and changed a bunch of things and it really became a completely different show. If they had just gone all the way with actually making it a new show, it wouldn't have flopped the way it did. Still, we have seasons 1-8 of Scrubs proper that were awesome and I'm happy with that.

I was kind of leaning that way. Some of my favorite shows never really got to get where they should have gone...
Dark Angel and Firefly for the most part. Frikin FOX

Very true, although that one's not done for me just yet, Netflix doesn't have season 2 so I'm kind of in limbo till they get it.

Re: What's worse?
I can deal better with shows that jump the shark than shows that end early.
at least you get some kinda' closure with shows that go crappy.
But I hate that 'wtf? that's it?!' feeling when a show is cancelled or ends early.
and usually you can smell a shark jump a mile away on most shows nowadays.

Gahh! I have both seasons of Dark Angel... I also have the 3 books that was supposed to help with the ending... They didn't.
I would rather have a show get cruddy than have it cancelled.

Have you ever read virtual season 3 online?
(Hmm, just looked for it and can't find the original website, but apparently there are torrents out there for it)
Basically some fans took it upon themselves to write a virtual script for season 3, and a couple of episodes of season 4. Cool stuff, and WAY better than the books, much more true to characters.

I think sometimes cancellations can be mercy killings, but all often a show gets fucked before it gets a chance, FOX.
