more halloween crapola. Movies
Any classics or whatever that folks like to cozy down to on Halloween night after the kids have stopped ringing the damn bell?
I was really really REALLLY Hoping to get my hands on an a copy of Arsenic and Old lace this year but no such luck. =/
If any of you have not seen it, I highly recommend you stop what you're doing, get out, find a copy, netflix it, see if it's on Youtube and sit down and enjoy.
Cary Grant is hilarious in it and it's just a great black comedy with tons of laughs all around.
The last 45 minutes are the best.
If you dont dislike old movies, get out and give a look!
In the meanwhile, I've figured on going comedy this year and gonna' break down with some Abbot and Costello meets Frankenstein, Abbot and Costello in Hold that Ghost and maybe Abbot and Costello in "Time of their lives."
usually I do whatever new scary pic is available on demand or dvd as of recent and watch my old copy of Night of the living dead, figured I'd go upbeat this year.

Arsenic and Old Lace is a great movie. It's weird that you can't find it. Have you tried your local library?
My only watching plans this year is to watch the premier of The Walking Dead on AMC.

y'know.. I kind'a forgot that libraries lend movies too now.
I should go out and get me a library card again.
Hopefully they've forgotten about the books I owe from the 70's.
...DONT LAUGH!

I think with everything happening today, the only "thing" he is thinking about is YOU. Which is as it should be.

Loved Arsenic and Old Lace. My high school did it one year and it was a blast. The movie was neat too. Gotta love homicidal little old ladies, with the best of intentions XD

I think I could argue against that one Willow. There were some definite spots Zombie Strippers failed in its campiness. Which is a feat when you have Robert Engulund in the cast.

Well true, but Seriously shooting pool balls out of your cooter. The only thing that would have been better had they moved to bowling balls next.

Re: more halloween crapola. Movies
I got to watch Nightmare before Christmas at lease once by midnight on Halloween.
Re: more halloween crapola. Movies
I usually watch Nightmare Before Xmas just after Hallowe'en, as that's when the movie takes place. Then I watch Rudolph (Rankin-Bass Rule!!!) the Red Nosed Reindeer. I have the whole collection and watch them (one a week). It's one of the few ways I can get into the Xmas spirit anymore.

Re: more halloween crapola. Movies
I also do Nightmare before Christmas right before Christmas aswell. I like to think o it as my catch all end of the year holiday movie.
As for Christmas I tend to do various versions of A Christmas Carol. Whether it be Scrooged to The muppet's Christmas Carol.
I don't really make it a point to watch other Christmas movies because I know at one point or another they will all be on tv before Christmas hits for me to catch on.

The only copy of "A Christmas Carol" we have is the 1950's version starring Alastair Sim. In black and white. We love that version, it's one of the few that's true to the original book.

I LOVE that at the end, Gonzo says "if you liked the movie you should read the book!"

The sad thing is that it took us till the second page to derail a thread. I think we might be slipping.Kid-spider2099 wrote:maron wrote:But what about the Mickey Mouse version? That one was cute.Zod the everliving wrote:the magoo version roxxors boxxors as well.
